Veteran's Day
In honor of Veteran's Day I wanted to thank all of our Veterans, I especially want to recognize and thank my father, Nick, who is my true hero in life and my brother-in-law, Kyle. These are great men who truly know the meaning of the word sacrifice. I am proud to call them family. I hope you will take time today to recognize the Veterans in your life and honor their gift to us.
I also thought it might be a good day to inform our Veterans about a benefit that is often unknown - VA Aid & Attendance Pension. The Aid & Attendance Pension provides benefits for Veterans and surviving spouses who require the regular attendance of another for a variety of basic needs. To qualify for Aid & Attendance it must be established by your physician that you require regular daily assistance by another to dress, undress, bath, cook eat, leave your home, etc. You do not necessarily need to require assistance in all areas. This is a needs based benefit and income and net worth limitations apply. To find out more go to: http://www.vba.va.gov/bln/21/pension/vetpen.htm.
